Xbox 360 250GB Kinect bundle dropping to $299.99 ahead of E3?

The image above is not a mockup. What you’re looking at is a screen grab from the Video Game section of Target’s online storefront proudly touting “free shipping” on a $299.99 Xbox 360 250GB console with Kinect bundle. Unfortunately, your pulse-quickened click will be met with the existing $399.99 price tag at checkout. So what’s going on here? Are retailers gearing up for price drops on the 250GB Kinect bundle ahead of E3 or did Target’s arts and charts department just make a mistake? E3 Expo kicks off June 7th, so it won’t be long until we find out either way.

Sprint teasing EVO 3D via e-mail; not listed on rebates before June 23

Sprint Playbook rebates

Let’s get back to the Sprint EVO 3D launch date for a second, shall we? Or, rather, the lack of a launch date. A bunch of you reminded us that when the EVO 3D was listed under "Week 4" in the recent version of the Sprint Playbook, it referred to the training cycle, and not so much a spot on the calendar. And that’s correct.

But let’s also take a look at the rebate schedule from said Playbook. The EVO 3D is nowhere to be seen for June 5-23. Now that doesn’t mean things can’t change — we’d love to see it come out sooner rather than later. But all the info we currently have suggests we won’t see a launch before … wait for it … the fourth week of June, at the earliest. But, again, that could well change.

Users Say They?re More Likely To Buy If A Business Answers Their Question On Twitter

Currently I am not in Cancun. The reason I am not in Cancun is out of my control (an over three hour Virgin delay on the tarmac at JFK caused me to miss my connecting USAirways flight at SFO). I spent a good part of those three plus plane-trapped hours bitching on Twitter, asking both the @VirginAmerica and @USAirways Twitter accounts for guidance, because calling their respective 800 numbers either put me on hold or wouldn’t go through.

Google holds back on open-sourcing Honeycomb, heralds massive shift for Android

Android Honeycomb

Google, in an interesting but not entirely unexpected twist, will not be open-sourcing Android 3.0 Honeycomb for the foreseeable future.

Historically, Android is usually open-sourced via the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) a few days or weeks after the code is finalized. While this departure from the norm won’t affect OEMs like HTC and Motorola that have access to internal builds of Android, small-time developers will likely have to wait months before rolling their own distributions.

Bing begins roll out of HTML5-enhanced search interface

Bing transitions

Bing’s new HTML5-and-CSS3-enhanced search interface, which was first demonstrated back in September 2010 to showcase the power of IE9, has started to roll out.

The most notable addition to the new interface is is smooth page transitions — the fade in and out — and navigation tabs (maps, images, videos, etc.) now persistently float at the top of the page. WinRumors is also reporting that a feature reminiscent of Google Instant search is being added to Bing, with page elements smoothly transitioning in and out as you type in your search query.

This Athens Bike Shops Looks Unfinished On Purpose [Design]

With its exposed particle board, bare floors and an almost treehouse-like interior this Athens-based bike shop appears half-done, but that’s by design. “Nature” is one of the main themes, as it is “nature” where you’ll be doing your riding. More »

Subtly Display Your Geek Cred with the Cadence 4-Bit Chrono Watch

Unlike the watches that display the time in a pattern of colored lights, the 4-Bit Chrono UTC Watch from the Cadence Watch Co. looks like a typical analog watch with date and chronograph functions.  The geekery is subtle in this one:  the hour markers are displayed in 4-bit code with the least significant bit to [...]
